Go to the Mountain

Holy! Lol. The exact word I described beautiful Dharamasala, located in Kangra District, North India. To make it even more adventurous I was surrounded by the magnificent Himalayas. My new home for the next 6 months as a student in YWAM. The heart of the Discipleship Training School is "to know God and to make God known". Our inspiration for our school is based on the scripture "Let my people go, so that they may worship me" - Exodus 9:1b. The school was preparing us to live with a passion for Jesus and compassion for people in the world who do not yet know Jesus.

We had 12 weeks of lectures with 12 different topics. We received amazing teaching from teachers from different places in India and as well as different countries. And for the last eight weeks of outreach we would travel to a different location in India or a different country to share the love of Jesus through words and actions of compassion. God was moving in each class I would be the one sitting at the back of the class room crying like a baby and wanting to run away due to the hidden things God was revealing to my heart. Funny thing I did run away to my room at one stage in Father Heart of God class. I came to DTS with the expectation of an adventure like sight seeing, experiencing a new culture but I got more than that I received healing of my broken heart and discovering my ministry of compassion for people who are broken.

My class mates were just that my family. Our class was pretty unique bunch of people from all walks of life. We spent time together in community living if it be through roommate times, dancing late at night, bonfires and spontaneous forest walks sharing life experiences, handwashing clothes, weekend escapes to Macleod Ganji or working together while doing work duties. We allowed God to move and speak through us by motivating, provoking, challenging and encouraging each other. Love these guys! #ofaatu
